A Gradult at work: TV Studios: Pt. 2

BBC Press has released information of the game show I'm working on. Here's the statement:

"The BBC has commissioned Initial to produce a brand new Saturday night entertainment series for BBC One.

Hosted by Jason Bradbury (The Gadget Show), Don't Scare The Hare is an innovative new family game-show featuring humour and jeopardy.

Each episode combines comedy, tension and slapstick, as two teams of contestants not only have to take on each other but also the star of the show the 4ft, fully animatronic, robot hare.

Staged in the hare's unique world, the two teams must avoid scaring him as they complete a series of funny physical and mental challenges. To test the teams each challenge is full of traps and pitfalls specifically designed to give the hare a fright. And with the hare having an unpredictable personality things are not going to be easy for the teams. With £15,000 at stake in the show's dramatic finale, players have to make sure they do all they can and Don't Scare The Hare. The series will be narrated by Miranda Hart.

Production for the nine-part series is already underway in Scotland and filming commences this week at the new studio facilities at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays. The commission will run as 8 x 40 minutes with a 1 x 40 minutes "best of" compilation show.

Head of Entertainment at Endemol UK, Nick Mather says; "Don't Scare The Hare is an innovative new format and it's hugely exciting to be making this large-scale studio show for BBC One. The series will be packed with comedic moments for the whole family – and so far host Jason Bradbury and our robotic hare are getting on like a house on fire."

Alan Tyler, executive editor BBC Entertainment, says: "Don't Scare The Hare cleverly captures the spirit and fun of interactive family videogames that has been sweeping the nation. We're excited about bringing this experimental new format to early Saturday evenings on BBC One. And it seems like a perfect fit that this new show should be first to use the brand new studios at MediaCityUK in Salford."

Don't Scare The Hare is produced by Initial Scotland, an Endemol company for BBC One. The executive producer is Tom Blakeson and series producer is Neil Gallery. The BBC executive producer is Alan Tyler. The series was commissioned by Danny Cohen, controller BBC One, Mark Linsey, controller entertainment commissioning and Alan Tyler."
